A NOTE FROM THE BOOSTER PRESIDENT

03-13-23

Hello, fellow band booster parents! Click this link to view bios for each candidate who has expressed interest in serving on the board for the upcoming year. As you can see, we still have an opening for Secretary. Additionally, you may still submit your name and bio as a candidate for any elected position, even if there is someone already running for the position you seek.

Elections will be held during the parent meeting next Wednesday, March 15, at 7:30pm. The first portion of the meeting will focus on regular business and will also be available via Zoom. We will then close that part of the meeting before we hold elections, which will be in-person only. Our bylaws do not allow for proxy voting, so you must be present in order to seek election, and/or to vote on candidates.

If you have any questions, or if you’re interested in running for the board, please contact me at president@fcbands.org

Thank you for all your support for this incredible program!

Yours in service,

Denise Holaday

President, Franklin Central Band Boosters

The New Year brings with it many opportunities for you to be involved, including a need for leads. Please consider the following openings!

Food Lead for MB Season 2023

Food lead - will organize menus and volunteers to feed dinner to the band members and staff for band camp July 17-21, four home game tailgates (possibly five if we host a playoff game in late October) and our BOA competition in Kentucky on 9/16. The food lead also ensures there is plenty of stock of paper supplies (plates/bowls, napkins) and utensils for the season, and will coordinate the transport of same to/from the dinner sites.

Uniform Lead for MB Season 2023

Uniform Lead - will ensure all students are sized into uniforms during summer practices and will be the go-to for maintenance during performances and competitions. The uniform lead will be encouraged to find reliable helpers that can share the work. The uniform lead will also organize volunteers to wash the uniforms during the season.

Prop Lead for MB Season 2023

Props Lead - works with the directors and other staff members to execute the vision of the directors. This role is unique in that the person has the creativity to help design props for the shows, while leading a team of dedicated and artistic parents. The parent will be asked to help design and oversee props for the Marching Band, Winter Guards and Percussion Symphony. Multiple parents will need to be recruited to assist the Props Lead including individuals with trade skills, but trade skills are not required. The props lead will also be responsible for organizing volunteers to load trucks and to pull props out onto the field.
